Tips For Chosing The Perfect Ballet Video

This year for Christmas, I had a much harder time buying for my daughter than I did the years before. I’m not sure if it is her age, or if it was because there was no one toy that she wanted to have. There are many things that she mentioned, there was not one toy that she was absolutely dying to own. I suppose this was a good thing, as it means she is not putting as much emphasis on material things as she was just a year ago. However, I still wanted to give her gifts she wanted for the holidays, and I finally settled on a ballet video.

My daughter has always loved the Wiggles, and when they perform they feature all forms of dance. She has been particularly interested in the ballet numbers, and has asked if she could get a ballet video. There was a commercial on television that showed a dance mat that came with a ballet video. She would often sing the song from the commercial to me, but I don’t think she had any idea it was an actual thing that you could buy. When I saw it on the shelf, I knew I found a great gift to give her for Christmas.

When she opened the dance mat and the ballet video, she didn’t know what it was at first. When I explained to her that this was what she was seeing on TV, her eyes got very big. When she realized that she could use the mat and the ballet video to dance in her bedroom, she got really excited and insisted that we opened it up. Though there were many other toys and movies underneath the Christmas tree, this was the very first thing that she wanted to do.

Since the day she opened her ballet video, she has learned almost all of the dances that were included. She is of course not as graceful as a ballerina, but that is to be expected. She has had no formal ballet training. However, she dances quite beautifully, and she is quite happy with her present. Even now, a month after Christmas has passed, she still loves her ballet video above all of her other toys. There are times when she forgets that she has it, and she will tell me that she’s bored, and this is when I remind her that she can dance. Perhaps there’s something in all of us that loves to express ourselves through dance, and it may be one of the best gift you can give.
